The tally on the bottom right must refer to Mary Belle de Vargas: beneath it Lydia wrote, "Party at Mary Belle's." I do believe Mary-Belle's brother, Dick, who also lived in Natchitoches and had a jewelry shop, died some years ago. He and his wife had three children.
